  	FATHER RICHARD WATERFALL, 80 of Palm Springs passed away Dec. 14, 2004 at his home in Palm Springs. Born in New York City, he attended elementary school and high school in the Barstow area. He continued his education at Loyola University in Los Angeles. He attended St. Francis Seminary in San Diego in 1943. In 1945, he attended St. Edwards Seminary in Kenmore, Washington and Immaculate Heart Seminary in El Cajon, California. Fr. Waterfall was ordained by Bishop Charles F. Buddy on February 2, 1949 at St. Josephs cathedral in San Diego. Fr. Waterfall's first assignment was as a curator to St. Bernardine's Parish in San Bernardino. He served as chaplain at Patton State Hospital for 20 years and was assigned to St. Thomas More Parish in Rialto where he ministered until his retirement in 1978. Mass of Resurrection for Father Waterfall will be celebrated on Friday, December 17, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. by Bishop Gerald R. Barnes at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mt. View Mortuary, San Bernardino.
