	Dr Alfred Midgley CASH, who died, aged 85, at Bovey Tracey on March 14, was born at Birstwith, near Harrogate, and educated at Bootham. He took his degrees at Edinburgh University, and was dresser to Lord Lister. Continuing his medical studies in Vienna and Berlin, he became very much interested in the homeopathic system of medicine. He was writing articles for a homeopathic journal to within a few months of his death. A. Midgley Cash was a frequent visitor to meetings in Cornwall as well as in Devon, and was particularly interested in the preservation of the closed Meeting Houses and disused burial grounds of the Society in the two counties. He gave his professional services to the Rosehill Children's Hospital at Torquay, and also found time for the chairmanship of the Torquay and Bovey Tracey branches of the British and Foreign Bible Society, and of the Bovey Tracey branch of the League of Nations Union.
